Planning on air travel for the holidays and taking your pooch along? Here is the latest information on how to save on their airfare.
AirTran offers the cheapest domestic pet fares with $69 each way for a small dog traveling in a carrier that will fit under your seat.
Continential and United charge $125 for in cabin pooches, while Delta, JetBlue, Northwest, US Airways, and Virgin all ask a more reasonable $100. Dogs flying cargo cost more with fares running as high as $689 each way depending on the pets size.
Pet carry-on weight limits vary and space is limited, so always reserve early. For more info visit www.bringfido.com which lists each airline's pet policies and prices.
